9410 HOUGH AVENUE PROJECT
9410 Hough Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106
Client: NREUV & Affiliates
Architect: RDL Architects
The 9410 Hough Avenue project involved the complete rehabilitation of a previously vacant 10-story building into a modern, 116-unit affordable housing community. The comprehensive renovation included the installation of all-new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems; two new elevators; a new roof and façade; hazardous materials abatement; extensive structural and interior renovations; landscaping and irrigation; a new amenities building; and on-site parking. All work was performed in compliance with HUD requirements, including HAZMAT and Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections, to deliver safe, energy-efficient, and high-quality homes for residents.
Beyond construction, the 9410 Hough Avenue project created meaningful economic opportunities for the Hough neighborhood and the greater Cleveland community. Throughout the project, our team prioritized local hiring by engaging qualified local workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MBE/WBE) whenever practical and available. In support of the development team's vision, the project also promoted workforce development by encouraging participation from local trades, apprentices, and disadvantaged businesses. These efforts reflected the broader mission of the 9410 Hough redevelopment, to strengthen the community through economic investment, equitable development, and long-term neighborhood revitalization.
